FE Research has reinstated Mark Barnett’s £6.7bn Invesco Perpetual Income fund into its Select 100 list of top funds following a review.

The group had removed the fund from its list, and had downgraded its recommendation from ‘buy’ to ‘hold’ due to fears that “fund outflows might impact liquidity” following the departure of manager Neil Woodford.

But the fund has had its ‘buy’ rating and place on the Select 100 reinstated after FE Research concluded that the outflows “[do] not appear to have affected Mark Barnett’s ability to manage the fund effectively”.

The FE team also said Mr Barnett “will be as successful as his predecessor”.

Elsewhere, FE Research added eight new funds to its recommended list as part of its biannual review.

The new entrants included the PFS TwentyFour Dynamic Bond fund, the BlackRock Continental European Income fund and the CF Lindsell Train fund.
