The society has teamed up with four partner firms to offer its members advice, Mark Bogard has said.

The society’s chief executive said its new financial advisory partners, Chase de Vere, Key Retirement Solutions, Kings Court Trust and Bridgefast Property Services, would cover issues including funding care, inheritance tax and managed property sales.

Mr Bogard added: “Our ethos is to provide products and services that help all family members, whether first-time buyers or those wanting to plan for older age.

“In our eyes all generations of a family are equal, although their needs are obviously very different.”

Lorreine Kennedy, head of care fee advice for Hemel Hempstead-based Carematters, said: “We need more people who are dedicated to this (looking at planning for older age) and not just dabbling.

“There have to be people who really want to work in this area of financial planning.”
