Glen Finegan is set to leave First State Investments at the end of his year-long sabbatical.

Mr Finegan had taken a sabbatical from the firm in November 2013, but First State has now confirmed he will not be returning.

The spokesman also said that there “will be no other changes to the team’s portfolio management responsibilities”.

Mr Finegan had been co-manager on the First State Global Emerging Markets fund and the First State Worldwide Equity funds, both with Jonathan Asante.

He had also been co-manager on the First State Global Emerging Market Leaders fund, also with Mr Asante, until July 2013, when he was replaced on the fund by Tom Prew.

Mr Finegan joined First State Investments’ Global Emerging Markets/Asia Pacific ex-Japan team in October 2001 as an analyst. Prior to First State, he worked at Wood Mackenzie as an Asia Pacific analyst.
