Mark Julio has moved from Ignis Asset Management to Sarasin & Partners.

Mr Julio was a portfolio manager for global emerging market equities at Ignis. He will now work on Sarasin’s investment team, strengthening their emerging market capabilities.

He will also work alongside Harry Talbot Rice to manage the £311m Sarasin EquiSar fund. The fund invests in both developed and emerging market stocks.

Ignis Asset Management was bought buy Standard Life Investments (SLI), which has already resulted in a host of Ignis equity managers being replaced by SLI managers.

Guy Monson, chief executive at Sarasin, said: “Mark joins at a time when we see long term thematic opportunities emerging in the restructuring of state owned enterprises, the growing strength of emerging markets franchises as well as key security of supply opportunities in food, energy and minerals.

“His experience will also help in harnessing growing dividend flows from the emerging world which are increasingly important for equity income mandates of our charities and private investors.”
