Axa Investment Managers has hired William Healey and Philip Roantree to its fixed income team.
Mr Healey joins from JPMorgan Asset Management where he was head of European high yield debt for three years. At AXA IM he will be global head of SmartBeta and UK head of Buy & Maintain.
Mr Healey will report to Chris Iggo, chief investment officer and head of Europe and Asia fixed income.
He noted that AXA IM is seeing “increased demand from clients” for buy and maintain strategies, which is “in part as a result of higher transaction costs”.
Additionally, Mr Roantree will be a senior portfolio manager within the fixed income team at AXA IM and report to Mr Healey.
Mr Roantree comes from Morningstar where he was a fixed income and absolute return fund analyst.
Mr Iggo said: “Both [Mr Healey and Mr Roantree] bring with them strong fixed income experience and will be valuable additions to our team.”
