Fidelity has expanded its Asian equity fund range with the launch of an Asia Pacific Opportunities fund for Anthony Srom.

The Fidelity Asia Pacific Opportunities fund will have a high-conviction approach, picking just 25 to 35 stocks from across the Asia Pacific region.

The fund will be a UK-domiciled Oeic with a minimum investment of £1,000 and an estimated ongoing charge at launch of 1.06 per cent.

Fidelity said Mr Srom, who currently manages the offshore $59m (£35.8m) Fidelity Asian Aggressive Sicav fund, was a “broadly style neutral” manager who takes “a long-term view on high conviction stocks, resulting in a low turnover strategy, with an average holding period of more than two years”.

Mr Srom joined Fidelity in 2008, having previously held roles at ABN Amro, Goldman Sachs and Deutsche Bank, and took on the Asian Aggressive fund in June 2014.
