Polar Capital has hired former Threadneedle manager Nick Davis to develop a European equity income franchise.
Following the hire of Mr Davis, Polar Capital has said it is looking to launch a Pan European Income fund in the fourth quarter of 2014.
The new franchise brings the total number of teams at Polar Capital up to 11, following the recent hire of Guy Rushton to set up a UK alternatives franchise.
Mr Davis left Threadneedle, where he had been managing the £603m Threadneedle European fund and the £91m Threadneedle Pan European Equity Dividend fund, in July.
He joined Threadneedle in 2010 from Sanford C. Bernstein, having previously worked at Deloitte.
