What would your used vehicle advert read like?

Here’s a question I bet you’ve never been asked: how much do you think you’d be worth if you were a second hand car?

Don’t, whatever you do, ask your friends’ opinions; the jokes about high mileage, worn headlining, toxic exhausts and so on just go on and on. But honestly, hand on heart, what would your used vehicle advert read like? Could you really say “one CAREFUL owner”? Even if you can; I bet you couldn’t use the magic phrase “full service history”.

While most of us wouldn’t tolerate letting our means of getting to work, going on holiday and ferrying the kids around go without regular servicing (or, at the very least, have its annual MOT), we are more than content to allow ourselves to run uninspected from year to year, only troubling the mechanic (doctor) when we notice a fault.

I’ll stop with the car analogies there*.

As part of our Vitality programme, PruProtect members get discounts on full medicals and can have a basic health review for as little as £15 at a local pharmacy. Measuring things like height and weight, blood pressure and glucose levels, it gives great peace of mind and can pick up potential health problems before they might progress into something more serious.

To spread the word about Vitality and the importance of knowing your numbers when it comes to health, we’re giving customers who take out a policy between now and 7th November 2014 a FREE health check through our partners, roadtohealth.

In addition, we’re also giving a 5% discount on our standard premiums for anyone who applies in the period – a great conversation starter for advisers, giving what we hope will be a welcome boost to the industry, following the usual summer lull.

Customers taking their health check will not only get the satisfaction of knowing their current health, they will also receive Vitality points for having engaged and started on the path to understanding and improving their lifestyle. As part of Vitality our members also have access to our myriad of rewards, cinema tickets, discounts on trainers and gym membership and even annual cashback.

You don’t get that at the garage. (*OK, just one more).
