Three more insurers have signed up to use UnderwriteMe software, the firm’s chief executive has said.

Martin Werth said Exeter Family Friendly, Scottish Provident, Scottish Friendly and SunLife are already using the new software within their own propositions.

And Mr Werth, a former managing director of Ageas Protect, said the new trio will go live with the technology in the next quarter as part of a phased implementation.

The UnderwriteMe technology offers advisers and their customers usability, consistency and immediacy, whether for income protection, term or critical illness cover.

Mr Werth added: “This is an exciting first step towards the launch of our multi-insurer comparison proposition.”

Tom Conner, director for Brighton-based Drewberry Insurance, said: “We have started using this through Exeter Friendly and have found it really good. In the past, there could be a week’s turnaround for paper-based applications, but these now go straight through using the software. It would be really good, though, if Underwrite Me could be used by brokers as part of the quoting process to help put the client on risk with the insurer with the best terms.”
