Autumn will be “crunch time” for people looking to sell their home, haart chief executive Paul Smith has said.

Mr Smith said: “Buyers do have increased choice right now but the strong competition that remains in the market will ensure that those selling now have the best chance at the best price.”

He added that the market still looked “competitive” with an average of 9.5 buyers registering interest in each new home coming to market, and that a “gradual return to normality” in the market was helping to dispel fears of a property bubble.
