Vanguard launches four low cost ETFs listed in London

Vanguard has launched four Irish-domiciled exchange traded funds (ETFs) today, bringing its total offering of ETFs listed in the UK to 13.

The group has launched the Vanguard FTSE 250, Vanguard FTSE North America, Vanguard FTSE Developed Europe ex UK, and Vanguard FTSE Developed World ETFs which are listed on the London Stock Exchange.

The FTSE 250 and North America ETFs will have an ongoing charge of 0.1 per cent while the Developed Europe ex UK ETF will have an ongoing charge of 0.12 per cent and the Developed World ETF will have a charge of 0.18 per cent.

The ongoing costs for Vanguard’s European ETF suite ranges from 0.07 per cent to 0.29 per cent compared to the industry average of 0.35 per cent, the group said.

Vanguard now has more than $10bn (£6.2bn) in European ETF assets under management.

Ken Volpert, head of investments for Vanguard in Europe, said: “ETFs are coming of age in Europe as both retail and institutional investors value their low costs, liquidity and transparency.”
