Schroders’ head of IFA sales Steve Jackson is leaving the fund management business, Investment Adviser can reveal.

Mr Jackson is one of the most senior salesmen at the City-headquartered asset manager, heading up its UK advisory sales team.

UK advisory sales is one of the three units that make up Schroders’ UK intermediary sales operation, which is headed overall by Robin Stoakley.

The other two units are UK discretionary sales, run by Phil Middleton, and UK financial institutions and strategic accounts, headed by James Rainbow.

The latter department was established last year as the group looked to boost its relations with national adviser firms and platforms in the wake of its acquisition of Cazenove Capital.

Mr Jackson’s UK advisory team includes London adviser salesman Stephen Green, Midlands salesman Alan Marshall, and North East and North West salesman Paul Kelly.

He also oversees South West salesman Nicholas Chaitow, Scotland, Northern Ireland and North East England salesman Kevin McFarlane and South East & East Anglia salesman Richard Smith.

Separately, senior staff at Schroders were left shocked last month by the resignation of Julie Dean, the UK equity fund manager who joined the firm just one year previously when it bought Cazenove Capital.

A statement from Schroders said: “Steve is an employee of Schroders and we don’t comment on our relationship with individual employees.”
