Adam Hughes, head of UK wholesale sales at Neptune Investment Management, is set to leave following a restructure.

Mr Hughes has been a member of the sales team at Neptune since August 2005. He was made head of UK wholesale in May 2012.

But Neptune has reorganised its sales team after a challenging year meaning Mr Hughes’ role has been made redundant.

The asset manager has divided its sales force. It will focus on three channels: UK discretionary wealth managers, UK strategic partnerships and advisers, and the Swiss and Benelux wholesale markets.

This change in focus means a number of internal changes.

Matt Jenkins will become head of advisory and will report to group sales director Patrick Berton.

A dedicated discretionary team has also been created. The team will report to Mr Berton and be supported by new head of strategy Charlie Parker. Mr Parker was appointed to the newly created role in June.

Mr Parker said: “After a strategic review we decided that we needed to significantly increase our efforts with discretionary wealth managers and strategic partnerships and advisers. We will focus on the kinds of products they are interested in.”

Elsewhere, Robin Geffen chief executive of the group, said: “I believe Neptune is entering an exciting period of growth, following a challenging couple of years.”
