Franklin Templeton has opened up its Luxembourg-domiciled Sicav Franklin K2 Alternative Strategies fund to investors in the UK.
The strategy was soft-launched a month ago but is now available to investors across Europe.
It will follow the same strategy as the US-registered Franklin K2 Alternative Strategies funds and is managed by K2 Advisors, a firm that Franklin Templeton acquired in 2012.
The fund is a multi-manager fund that invests in “alternative investment strategies managed by institutional-quality hedge fund managers”.
Franklin Templeton said the fund would look to provide investors with “lower correlations to traditional asset classes, reduced portfolio volatility and attractive risk-adjusted returns, while offering daily liquidity”.
