Credit unions can help bring vulnerable people “in from the cold,” the Duchess of Cornwall has said.

In a speech given at a reception hosted at Clarence House to mark international credit union day, the Duchess, who has been a member of the London Mutual Credit Union in Peckham, London, since 2013, said: “I believe credit unions can change the way we talk and think about savings and loans.

“They can encourage those who have the means to save and bring in from the cold those vulnerable people who struggle to qualify for loans.”
