Canada Life Group Insurance has renewed its RedArc Personal Nurse Adviser service provision, available to all group critical illness claimants, while also adding a Treatment Sourcing Service from fellow subsidiary Medical Care Direct.

The service was first introduced in January 2011 and has seen almost 100 per cent take up rates by critical illness claimants throughout 2014.

RedArc will now also be contracted to provide treatment sourcing, allowing employers or individuals to find the most convenient location and competitive cost for privately funded medical treatment.

This service was made available to all Canada Life Group Income Protection and Group Critical Illness policyholders from the beginning of October and can be used by all their employees, whether or not they are insured, and their immediate family members.

Paul Avis, marketing director of Canada Life Group Insurance, stated: “Augmenting this with the MCD Treatment Sourcing Service further emphasises our focus on support for the employer, employee and their family members - support beyond the pure financial benefits that group risk insurers provide.

“Our coverage of non-insured, as well as insured, employees for MCD enables smaller employers particularly to gain benefits from the insurance policies they have purchased from us whether or not they make a claim.”

Jan Lawson, group managing director at PHP Group, which owns Red Arc, added: “The additional service offered by MCD will mean that our overall service package is even more relevant to their scheme members, keeping Canada Life at the forefront of product development in their market.”
