Nucleus has appointed Doug Heron as its new chief financial officer, joining from Scottish private bank Adam and Company where he has been finance director since 2009.

Mr Heron will formally join the business in January and will be responsible for overseeing the finance, risk and compliance functions at Nucleus, managing a team of 14.

Prior to working at Adam and Company, Mr Heron held several senior finance roles at Royal Bank of Scotland, including head of finance for its private banking division and deputy chief financial officer for a partnership between RBS and Bank of China.

He will report directly to managing director Stuart Geard, who said that it is vital the firm has the right people on board to drive the company forward.

“While we were very impressed by both the quantity and quality of people interested in joining Nucleus for this role, in Doug I believe we have found someone who not only shares our passion for the business but has the skills and ambition to ensure it is able to meet its objectives in the coming years.”

Mr Heron added that he was pleased to be joining Nucleus at “this exciting point in the journey to becoming the wrap platform of choice for advisers who share their ethos of client-centricity and transparency”.
