Former Jupiter chief executive Edward Bonham Carter has been appointed to the board of the Investor Forum, which was launched in July of this year.

Mr Bonham Carter, who stepped down as chief executive in March of this year and is now Jupiter’s vice chairman, will work on the Investor Forum.

The Forum works with UK companies and aims to improve long-term returns to investors. Mr Bonham Carter will work closely with Simon Franser, former chief investment officer at Fidelity Worldwide Investments, who is chairman of the Forum.

This announcement comes as Jupiter has reorganised its environmental and sustainable strategy team.

Emma Howard Boyd, who used to be sustainable investment and governance director and director of stewardship at Jupiter, will now be an external consultant.

Ms Boyd will be a member of the stewardship committee and the sustainability review commitee at Jupiter.

Elsewhere, Mark Evans has become sustainability investment analyst and Jon Wallace has become the environmental and responsible investment analyst. They will both report to Charlie Thomas, head of environment and sustainability investment strategy.

Ashish Ray has been appointed governance reserach manager as Jupiter has changed the name of its corporate governance team to governance research.

Mr Thomas said: “We have come a long way from those early days in the 1980s when environmental and sustainability concerns were niche issues for investors.

“Today, they are very much part of mainstream investing. Given our strong track record in this field, we are adopting a new team structure to make it easier to share our knowledge and insight on a company-wide level for the benefit of all of our clients.”
