Dalton Strategic Partnership’s co-founder and chief executive Magnus Spencer has left the group.

Mr Spence co-founded the group in 2002 with Andrew Dalton, who died in 2011 after a 39-year-long fund management career. Mr Dalton died after a heart attack.

Both Mr Spence and Mr Dalton had worked at Mercury Asset Management before leaving to establish Dalton.

The group said Mr Spence left at the end of October and “would like to thank him for his contribution to the development of the business over the last 12 years”.

“We wish him well in his future endeavours,” the company added.

“His roles and responsibilities have been assumed by DSP’s management team, the chairman of which is Nick Mottram.”
