Financial advisers and mortgage brokers can now advertise their services direct to consumers for free on financial advice site cherryFind, founder and director Donna Hopton has announced.

She said: “Recent government announcements stressing the importance of expert independent advice are likely to encourage consumers to look for an adviser in their local area, either for personal finance or mortgage-related advice.”

The website lets consumers find local mortgage, financial and insurance advisers, discuss financial matters in the site’s forum, search for a property and raise issues with advisers.

Brian Brotherton, director of Essex-based The Partnership, said: “Anything that gets our name out there is a good thing. The site is a very useful tool, which customers can use to find a local adviser. I have had a listing and have had business from it. It is better than its competitors as it is more specific to mortgage world.”
