One of network Personal Touch’s members has been appointed to provide financial advice to one of the Seven Families which is taking part in the eponymous charity-led initiative.

Roger Crockford, principal of Financial Connections Wealth Management, has been in financial services for 27 years and was one of the first advisers to qualify as a chartered financial planner, and more recently a certified financial planner.

He is also a Fellow of the Personal Finance Society and set up his wealth management business in 2006 when he joined Personal Touch.

Seven Families is a campaign to raise public awareness of the financial impact of long-term illness or disability.

It has been backed by some of the biggest companies in the UK and it will aim to provide financial support for one year to the breadwinners of seven families who are currently unable to work through ill health or accident.

Every family involved in the campaign will be provided with basic financial guidance from a volunteering adviser, and Mr Crockford is one of the first advisers to be announced.

Charlotte Power, senior protection manager at Personal Touch, said: “From the early days when the Seven Families initiative started, we knew we wanted to be part of this fantastic campaign.

“The work they are doing is really helping to change the perception of income protection and allows more people to understand the importance of having cover in place.

“It’s great to start seeing the families being announced and see how the campaign is making a difference to the families’ lives. We are extremely pleased Roger has agreed to be part of the initiative and provide quality advice to one of the seven families as he has such impressive knowledge and industry experience to really add maximum value”.
