MitonOptimal has outsourced the management of its offshore Special Situations fund to Coram Asset Management, Scott Campbell has said.

The managing director and chief investment officer for MitonOptimal described the decision as a “benefit” for both advisers and clients.

He said: “Many of our investors will be familiar with the team’s style and superb long-term track record.”

The fund will be managed as an unconstrained portfolio.

The move follows the announcement that former manager Martin Gray has returned to the industry at Coram alongside his former colleague from the Miton Group, James Sullivan.

Mr Gray had previously managed the Special Situations fund since its launch in 1997 until leaving the Miton Group in June this year, after which David Jane took over the management responsibilities.

Mr Jane will continue to manage the onshore CF Miton Special Situations Ucits IV fund, which is a separate entity.
