BNY Mellon Wealth Management hires new sales director

BNY Mellon Wealth Management has created a new role to focus on sales and business development in Europe as part of its strategy to grow the business.

The wealth manager has hired former Barclays Wealth and Investment Management director, Yolande Escher for the role. Ms Escher will be based in London and report to Jeroen Kwist, the managing director of the international wealth management business.

The hire is part of BNY Mellon’s strategy to grow its business development team, a strategy first announced by the chief executive Larry Hughes in 2013.

At Barclays Wealth, Ms Escher was a director in London where she focused on the “resident non-domiciled” market in the United Kingdom. Before this she had several roles at UBS Global Wealth Management and business banking in London and Zurich.
