Old Mutual brings Greater China fund in-house for Lee

Old Mutual Global Investors has made Diamond Lee manager of its $100m (£66.3m) Greater China Equity fund as it brings the management of the fund in-house.

The fund had been run on a sub-advised basis by Australian-based firm Metisq Capital since 2012, but Old Mutual has now decided to run the fund itself.

Mr Lee was hired by Old Mutual in November 2014 as part of its Asian equities team, having spent 18 years at Ignis Asset Management, managing both Asian and China equity funds.

OMGI is in the process of shifting its base of operations for its Asian equities team, headed up by Josh Crabb, from London to Hong Kong, which is expected to happen in March.
