Lighthouse launches mortgage and protection offering

Aim-listed national The Lighthouse Group has launched a dedicated mortgage and protection advice offering in response to increased adviser demand.

The new offering, Lighthouse Mortgage and Protection Solutions, was created to help advisers in these particular areas, with the aim of providing holistic advice without them needing to visit the high street or search the internet for unadvised deals.

The service will be initially available to a subset of the group’s affinity partners, representing around 1.7m members.

It is fully compliant with the requirements of the Mortgage Market Review and will be rolled out to both existing specialist mortgage and protection advisers within the group as well as new recruits.

The offering is backed by mortgage software supplied by Intellflo’s Intelligent Office product suite and through partnerships with Mortgage Brain, Mortgage Trading Exchange and Assureweb.

Paul Harris, managing director of LMPS, said that the launch comes at a time of substantial change in the mortgage and protection market place, with a move away from direct servicing by product manufacturers and towards advised servicing by intermediaries.

Malcolm Streatfield, chief executive of Lighthouse Group, added that the service seeks to address the significant under-protection of consumers in the UK “and we look forward to the further development of this exciting initiative”.
