F&C Investments has closed its underperforming Emerging Asia fund after it failed to attract enough money.
The $4.5m fund, launched in November 2007, was managed by Ben Akrigg and June Lu.
It has returned 16.1 per cent over the past five years, compared to its benchmark, the MSCI Emerging Asia index, which has returned 35.3 per cent.
A spokesperson from F&C said: “F&C Investments continually reviews the viability of its fund range.
“We found that the F&C Emerging Asia Fund did not have critical mass, and as such, we have notified shareholders that closing the fund is the right thing to do for them.”
