SimplyBiz has announced a series of investment forums aimed at providing support to IFAs on key issues running at 17 venues across the UK.

The events, focused on non-mainstream investments, will feature presentations from financial firms including M&G, Octopus, HSBC Global Asset Management and Verbatim.

Areas covered will include effects of the global market, the ‘great rotation’, investments in commercial property, absolute return funds and structured products.

Rachel Lee, director of events and member relations for SimplyBiz, said: “Non-mainstream investment has been a slightly foreboding business area for advisers so far and we want to de-mystify it, ensuring that advisers who use our services have complete clarity on these products and have all the facts to hand when trying to decide what’s right for their clients.”

The forums are due to run from late January to 5 March.

Adviser view

Stefan Fura, director at Furnley House, Leicester said: “It is really important for advisers to keep up-to-date on their knowledge, especially post the retail distribution review.”
