JPMorgan launches unconstrained bond fund

JPMorgan Asset Management (JPMAM) has launched an onshore version of its Global Opportunities Bond fund aimed at UK investor.

Nick Gartside, Iain Stealy and Robert Michele, who currently run an offshore Sicav version of the strategy, will manage the new Oeic version.

Their $417.8m (£277.2m) Sicav fund, which has been running since February 2013, has returned 4.45 per cent since its launch.

Mr Gartside, chief investment officer of fixed income at JPMAM, said the fund would have an unconstrained approach because traditional bond benchmarks have become “intellectually incoherent” for modern bond investors.”
