Stonebridge adds 51 advisers to network

Stonebridge Group has increased the number of appointed representatives on its network by 22 per cent year-on-year, according to an independent review.

The mortgage and insurance network added 51 ARs last year, claiming that its growth in adviser numbers oustrips any other UK network.

At its annual conference held this month, Stonebridge reported mortgage business volumes up 73 per cent year-on-year, approaching the £2bn mark for total placed mortgage business.

Life and protection volumes grew 42 per cent compared with 2013, while general insurance volumes increased 26 per cent year-on-year.

In terms of plans for 2015, there are scheduled upgrades to its Revolution technology system, plus additional staff to aid its roll-out to both AR and directly authorised firms.

Richard Adams, managing director of Stonebridge Group, said: “In terms of AR growth, Stonebridge has been the strongest performer over the last three years and we want to continue on this upward trajectory which means continually investing in the business in terms of resource and support.

“We have recruited heavily in recent months in order to support our growth and this remains an ongoing priority for the business.”

He added the strategy remains the same this year, focusing on bringing in quality recruits, keeping an eye on costs - no debt and no loans - and an open door policy with regulators and insurers.
