James Hay names new FD, loses HR director

James Hay is set to appoint Iain McCoo as its new finance director at the start of March, replacing John Watson.

Mr McCoo joins from Lehman Brothers, where he held a variety of positions over 14 years there, and previously worked at Morgan Stanley and Credit Suisse First Boston.

There will be a month’s overlap between him joining and John Watson leaving the business, to ensure a seamless transition, according to a statement from the firm.

At the end of January the platform provider’s chief executive Alastair Conway confirmed that Mr Watson’s decision to stand down in order to take a “well-deserved break” before pursuing other opportunities at the end of the first quarter.

Meanwhile, IFG Group HR director Sue Horwood will also be moving on from the business at the end of March.

She has been with the firm for several years, leading the James Hay HR function for the last four.

“In the long term, we will replace Sue with a permanent lead for the HR team, but in the meantime Gideon Copeland has come on board on an interim basis to ensure the team remains at full strength,” stated a spokeswoman, adding that they will dovetail activities over the next few weeks.
