Brooks Macdonald doubles model portfolio range

Brooks Macdonald has doubled its range of discretionary model portfolios, including its first portfolios classified as ‘high risk’.

The discretionary manager has added five portfolios to its service, available directly from the firm or through platforms such as Ascentric, Novia and Standard Life.

The new portfolios fill out the firm’s range to 10 portfolios, eight active and two passive, encompassing risk ranges from low risk to high risk.

The range is managed by Jonathan Webster-Smith, drawing on Brooks Macdonald’s central investment process.

For investors accessing the portfolios directly from Brooks Macdonald, the annual charge for the actively-managed portfolios will be 0.75 per cent plus VAT, while the passive portfolios will have a charge of 0.5 per cent plus VAT.

However, investors accessing the funds on platforms would pay a maximum of 0.4 per cent plus VAT, according to Brooks Macdonald, with charges varying by platform.
