Carmignac’s head of emerging market equities exits

Carmignac Gestion’s emerging equity fund managers, Simon Pickard and Edward Cole are leaving the asset manager.

Mr Pickard, head of emerging market equities, said leaving Carmignac was “a difficult decision, but I have a personal project that I would like to explore, the details of which I will share at the right point in time”.

Mr Pickard has worked at Carmignac for 12 years and has managed the flagship emerging equities fund, the Carmignac Emergents fund, since 2008.

Carmignac’s Xavier Hovasse and David Park have been appointed as fund managers of the Carmignac Emergents fund as well as running the Carmignac Emerging Discovery fund.

Mr Hovasse will also manage the emerging equities part of the Carmignac Emerging Patrimoine, previously managed by Mr Pickard, with assistance from Mr Cole.

Mr Cole joined Carmignac in 2013, before which he was at Ashmore and Finisterre Capital.
