Rowanmoor rolls out pension freedoms seminars

Rowanmoor Group is running a host of ‘regime ready’ seminars during May, with the aim of supporting advisers through the new pensions landscape.

The training and development seminars will focus on fresh advisory opportunities and the new wealth and retirement planning options that will result from the rule changes coming into effect on 6 April.

Two topics of discussion with be the focus of the seminars. The first, hosted by the firm’s head of pensions technical services Robert Graves, will be focused on the new legislation, including retirement benefit flexibility, taxation of death benefits and beneficiary income.

Matthew Robinson, national sales director, will present the second topic, on holistic pension planning solutions including succession planning, alternatives to traditional tax planning solutions, meeting clients’ changing investment and income requirements in the self-invested personal pensions area, plus rise of family pension schemes and Ssas.

Mr Graves said that the scale and scope of the changes is vast. “The flexibility of member-directed pension schemes such as Ssas’, Sipps and Family Sipps will be greatly enhanced post 6 April, particularly through the removal of the ‘death tax’ and we expect these to reignite adviser interest.

“Our ‘regime ready’ training and development seminars seek to guide advisers through the new legislative maze, outlining the implications of the changes and the opportunities for advisers.”
