The Lang Cat has hired Old Mutual Wealth’s platform marketing manager Mike Barrett as its new consulting director.
He is set to join the independent platform, pensions and investment consultancy in June, after having spent 18 years working in a variety of roles at OM Wealth.
While the firm is based in Edinburgh, Mr Barrett will remain in the south of England, being responsible for “sharing the love throughout London and the home counties”.
Mark Polson, principal of the Lang Cat, said: “If people who actually know what they’re talking about keep joining, we’ll have to stop mucking around and do some actual work.”
Mr Barrett stated that the Lang Cat’s depth of insight in their output puts them in a league of their own.
Tom Hawkins, head of proposition marketing at OM Wealth, took the opportunity to thank Mr Barrett for his contribution over the years.
“His responsibilities as platform marketing manager will be taken on by the existing proposition marketing team.”
