Legal & General Investment Management (Lgim) has expanded its emerging market debt team with two hires.
Lgim, which hired Uday Patnaik to head up its emerging market (EM) debt team last year, has now brought in manager Philip Meier from Axa Investment Managers and analyst John Gray from The Royal Bank of Scotland (RBS)
At Axa, Mr Meier was senior portfolio manager in the EM fixed income team and Mr Gray was a a vice president within the EM credit trading team at RBS.
The hires will work under Mr Patnaik on emerging market debt mandates and across Lgim’s multi-strategy, absolute return and global credit products
Mr Patnaik said: “With dedicated regional portfolio management teams and highly experienced sector analysts, the addition of a complete EM capability enables LGIM to source investment opportunities from across the full suite of fixed income markets.”
