Tilney Bestinvest appoints new investment MD

Tilney Bestinvest has hired Signia Wealth managing director Martin King as its new managing director for investment management.

He will be based in the Birmingham office, leading a new initiative to develop the investment offering for key client and ultra high net worth markets.

Most recently he spent the last three years as Signia Wealth managing director and head of regions, establishing the firm’s Birmingham office. Prior to that, he spent eight years as an executive director at UBS Wealth Management, founding their Midlands office.

Mr King has over 25-years’ experience in the industry, having also worked for Kleinwort Benson Private Bank and Singer and Friedlander.

Gareth Lewis, chief investment officer of Tilney Bestinvest, commented: “Martin is a major player in the wealth management industry, with an outstanding track record of working with ultra high net worth clients.”

In November, the firm strengthened its Exeter-based business with the appointment of David Boyce as a financial planner covering the South West.
