Mercia Fund Management has launched the Investor Centre to help advisers and their clients get the information they need on EIS and SEIS discretionary funds.

The portal allows existing and future investors the potential to sell shares in portfolio companies they hold ahead of a full exit of the business itself.

Mark Payton, Mercia Technologies chief executive, said: “We designed the Investor Centre to give our investors and their advisers a platform which makes investing into EIS & SEIS discretionary funds more accessible, enhancing the quality, consistency and transparency of communication.”

The exchange will also offer limited degree of liquidity to an otherwise illiquid investment – to “support our investors requirements and build a valuable, diverse and balanced portfolio across their investment”, he added.

Key Features:

• Investors can review all offers available on the portfolio companies they hold.

• Investors can opt for how many of their shares they would like to sell against the offer.

• The platform is supported by a messaging system which keeps the investor updated as to offer progress and allows for automatic counter offers should seller ‘bids’ outweigh the total shares sought on the original offer.

Mike Pendergast, financial adviser at Crewe-based Zen Financial Services, said: “This sounds a good offering. If investors are looking to sell holdings it can sometimes be difficult to find buyers, so an online central exchange would very useful. Investors in smaller companies would benefit from a portal such as this if looking to sell holdings or invest in others.”
