Invesco set to rebrand Newman’s emerging markets fund

Invesco Perpetual has said it will rename Dean Newman’s Emerging Countries fund in June in a bid to make its purpose clearer to investors.

The manager’s £230m fund has produced top quartile returns in the past 10-, five- and three-year periods, according to data from FE Analytics. Mr Newman has been at the helm since April 2007.

In a letter to shareholders Invesco said: “We believe that the new fund name will better articulate the fund’s exposure to emerging markets globally.”

The group said the name will change on June 22 but that the investment process would remain unchanged.
