Investec highlight mortgage offerings

Investec private bank and wealth manager is raising awareness of its mortgage proposition for high net-worth individuals and those needing larger loans, the company’s business development manager Peter Izard has said.

Mr Izard said: “Brokers are well aware that when it comes to dealing with the needs of both professional and wealthy borrowers with complex financial circumstances, it can be frustrating trying to deal with traditional high street lenders.”

The Investec Professional Mortgage is designed for qualified professionals earning over £75,000 a year who want to borrow between £250,000 and £1m.

It also has a £Million Plus Mortgage offer targeting borrowers with a minimum yearly income of £300,000 and net assets of over £3m.

Mr Izard said that borrowers did not need to hold an account at the bank or have assets under management to apply, and that the offerings were available from brokers across the country.

Jane King, mortgage adviser at London-based Ash-Ridge Private Finance, said: “It appears Investec has revamped its bespoke proposition and added uniform criteria to increase sales, be more active and be like other lenders.

“The rates are not bad, but their fees are horrendously expensive. Why would one go to them when there are a good number of lenders with cheaper fees? They need to be much more competitive on fees – these would be a deal breaker for most borrowers.”
