Nasdaq closes at new record

The Nasdaq hit a record as it gained 73.84 points to close at 5106.59 boosted by technology and biotech stocks.

The new record set by the Nasdaq comes as it looked likely that Greece will reach a potential deal with its creditors.

The gain also followed reports that chipmaker Broadcom is set to be bought by Avago Technologies.

The Dow Jones Industrial Index also reacted positively on the news, up 121.45 points to 18,162.99, while the S&P 500 closed up 19.28 points to 2,123.48.
