Louise Nash to exit as M&G tweaks equity range

UK smaller companies manager Louise Nash is set to leave M&G as the asset manager makes changes to several of its equity funds.

Ms Nash, who had managed the M&G Smaller Companies fund since October 2010, is leaving M&G “to move to Austria for family reasons” at the end of July.

M&G has replaced Ms Nash on the Smaller Companies fund, effective today, with Garfield Kiff, who is also deputy manager on the M&G UK Growth fund and has run an institutional strategy focusing on smaller companies.

Meanwhile, M&G has brought the management of its M&G Japan and M&G Japan Smaller Companies funds in-house.

The funds had previously been run by another Prudential subsidiary, Eastspring Investments, but will be run by M&G from September 1.

Johan Du Preez, who had been part of the Eastspring team managing the fund, will move to M&G as part of the transfer and will manage the fund “to the same investment objective, process and approach as the incumbent managers”.

M&G has also appointed Mike Oliveros as co-manager of the M&G European Smaller Companies alongside Charles Anniss.

Mr Oliveros, who has worked at M&G since 2011, will remain deputy manager on the M&G Global Leaders fund.
