BlackRock removes Blundell from Corporate Bond fund

BlackRock has removed Simon Blundell as manager of its Corporate Bond fund so he has more time for his new role of head of the Sterling team.

Ben Edwards, who had been co-manager on the fund since the end of May 2012, will now be the sole manager of the £371.5m BlackRock Corporate Bond fund.

A spokesperson for BlackRock said: “This change is due to Simon’s recent promotion to head of the Sterling team. He will continue to work closely with Ben in this new position.”

Mr Blundell was appointed head of the Sterling team in January this year.

The fund has outperformed its benchmark, the Bank of America Merrill Lynch Sterling Corporate index in the past three years. It has returned 7.9 per cent, while the benchmark has returned 7.8 per cent, according to the fund’s factsheet.
