Sanlam UK acquires stake in Caerus network

Sanlam UK is to purchase Caerus Portfolio Management and acquire an equity investment of 19.9 per cent in Caerus Holdings.

The creation of a new partnership will mean that Caerus Portfolio Management will outsource all investment management activities to Sanlam Four on completion of the transaction.

Alongside this, through the Sanlam equity investment in Caerus Capital Group, that business will immediately receive capital to accelerate and intensify the development of the Caerus advisory service for clients.

Lukas van der Walt, chief executive Sanlam UK, commented: “We make no secret of our vision and desire to be a leader in wealth creation in the UK. To achieve our goals we must align ourselves with suitable and appropriate parties and to that end we are delighted to announce our partnership with Caerus.

“This is the start of a long term journey which I hope will ultimately result in the unification of our businesses.”

Keith Carby, chief executive of Caerus Capital Group, said that its clients can now be even more confident of getting their desired outcomes as a result of combined strengths.

“Clients can take comfort in the fact that we can now deploy even stronger, more comprehensive and integrated resources to achieve their desired outcomes.”
