True Potential Investments poaches from Tilney

True Potential Investments has hired former TilneyBestinvest Chris Leyland as deputy chief investment officer as part of its strategic growth plans.

Mr Leyland, who has more than 13 years’ experience in the investment industry, had managed a large book of institutional and private clients for TilneyBestinvest, and will now be part of a growing team of investment specialists at True Potential.

Mark Henderson, senior partner for True Potential Investments, said: “At the core of our strategy is ensuring that we have the best people working with the most competitive products and providing investors with a combination of excellent funds and the ability to track progress towards their goals using our technology.”

According to Mr Leyland, one of the strengths of True Potential was the technology it offers to advisers and the quality of its fund range on platform, which includes investment trusts.

Earlier this year, True Potential launched its Wealth Strategy Fund Range, which is backed by True Potential’s own Investment Committee. This maintains control and governance over sub-managers Close Brothers Asset Management, Schroders and SEI.

Clients can choose from a series of fully diversified, risk-based investment solutions, linked to their financial goals as well as to their attitude to risk.

True Potential Investments is part of the Newcastle-headquartered True Potential Group of Companies. In March, the group unveiled its financial results.

Annual turnover climbed to £44.4m in the year ended 31 December 2014, up from £27.5m in 2013. The company also saw profits soar by 98 per cent to £10.5m during the year.
