Standard Life Investments has hired BNP Paribas’s global head of equity and derivatives strategy for their multi-asset team.
Gerry Fowler will be investment director, idea generation for the team, reporting directly to Guy Stern, SLI’s executive director of multi-asset and macro investing.
Mr Fowler will provide idea generation, investment recommendations and detailed implementation strategies for the multi-asset funds.
“Gerry is a highly skilled strategic analyst with a wealth of experience in equities and equity derivatives and will add to the already impressive range of knowledge and experience within the multi-asset team,” Mr Stern said.
Over the past 18 months, SLI has launched four multi asset products.
The pension reforms outlined in the March budget have been seen as an opportunity for multi-asset investment teams, as their offerings often mirror the annuities previously held by investors.
