Aviva has added business protection solutions through its life insurance personal protection product. It is also available through Aviva’s critical illness insurance options.

Louise Colley, managing director protection at Aviva said: “Having the right people with the right skills is absolutely critical to the success of any enterprise. It’s hugely important therefore that business owners consider what might happen if key people were to sadly die or be diagnosed with a critical illness.

“Our business protection solutions provide a range of flexible benefits and can be tailored to individual needs, so advisers can now help clients to get that invaluable cover, to safeguard the future of their businesses.”

Both life insurance and critical illness options were introduced alongside income protection options when Aviva Life Protection Solutions was launched earlier this year.

Quotes can be obtained through the life company or through major portals.

Marvin Evans, principal of Gloucestershire-based Old Bank Wealth Management, said: “Business protection is not well-recognised in planning, but it is something companies ought to be doing and something that we have to explain to clients.”

“Business protection through life insurance is nothing new. I think Aviva is trying to do a brand push on this.”
