PFS enjoys record event attendances

The Personal Finance Society has enjoyed record levels of attendance at its events for the first half of 2015, chief executive Keith Richards has revealed.

Mr Richards said more than 10,000 advisers attended regional and specialist CPD events held in the first six months of the year.

He said event attendance in the first and second quarters of 2015 had more than doubled compared with that in 2014.

Mr Richards attributed the increases to changes made to the events, saying: “We recognised the need to evolve our professional development programme in a post-RDR landscape and ensure they were more business-relevant to meet the needs of members and their clients.”

The PFS has also introduced specialist events focusing on areas such as later-life and retirement planning.

Background

As part of the PFS regional agenda for the third quarter of 2015, the Pensions Regulator, FCA and Fos will all hold sessions.

Those in the second quarter focused on areas such as lifetime cash flow modelling as well as the effects of April’s pension reforms on income planning in early retirement.
