Bestinvest founder launches HNW investment service

Boutique wealth manager EQ Investors - led by Bestinvest founder John Spiers - has launched a service for high-net worth individuals, companies and charities with over £750,000 to invest.

Each client is assigned a dedicated investment manager with personal portfolio oversight under the new service.

EQ Investors said the service builds on its range of discretionary managed model portfolios, providing comprehensive and continuous investment plan management, tailored to a clients’ individual needs and circumstances.

It is available on a standalone basis or in combination with EQ’s existing planning services.

The proposition offers tax optimisation across wrappers, a direct relationship with the investment manager who manages the portfolio and access to an extended investment universe including closed-ended funds and structured products.

EQ Investors said that the bespoke team will also be handling institutional accounts, including charities, pensions and trusts; each of which requires a specialist approach to reflect the specific needs of the organisation.

Mr Spiers said explained that Mike Neumann, formerly director of investment management at Bestinvest, will be joining to head up the service, in addition to current investment managers Andrew Rees and Daniel Bland.

“As wealth increases the need for a more bespoke investment portfolio and optimised tax planning rises,” he added. “We have the resources and expertise to offer this service and the cost is extremely competitive.”
