Parmenion launches new active and passive mix product

Parmenion Investment Management has introduced a product where the split between active and passive can be altered to adapt to market conditions.

Chief investment officer Simon Brett said the Conviction product would offer a dynamic split between active and passive, with Parmenion Investment Management monitoring and controlling the mixture between the two.

He claimed this could be advantageous as market conditions changed.

Mr Brett said: “Depending on the market, there are times when a high percentage of active fund managers are ahead of the benchmark. This provides opportunities to add value by increasing allocations to the active funds. Thus the chances of finding good fund managers who can beat the index increases.”

He added: “Conversely when the numbers are decreasing, it may be time to increase weightings to passives as the prospects of active funds is waning.”

The group said the product will be available shortly and has launched a series of roadshows starting in September to better explain it.
