Ex Ignis CIO Fellingham departs SLI

Chris Fellingham, chief investment officer for Ignis, which was bought by Standard Life Investments, has left the group.

Over the past year Mr Fellingham was responsible for overseeing the integration of Ignis’ business with SLI.

Meanwhile Standard Life Investments has hired Shayne Dunlap and Richard Marshall to its Absolute Return Government Bond fund team.

The duo join from Mizuho Corporate Bank in London.

Mr Dunlap will help current manager, Jonathan Gibbs, run the £725.6m fund. Both Mr Dunlap and Mr Marshall will report to Guy Stern, head of the Multi Asset Investing and Macro team.

Rod Paris, chief investment officer at SLI, said the fund is “a key focus for us going forward. Shayne and Richard will be a great addition to the team as we broaden our investment capabilities for our clients.”

In the past three years the fund has underperformed its sector, returning just 4.6 per cent, while the IA Targeted Absolute Return sector has returned 14 per cent in the same period, according to data from FE Analytics.
